Disturbance
and Riot Control (DCT)
Course
Length:
3 Days Team, 2 Additional Days Instructor
This
program was designed and developed from actual disturbances and riots that
have occurred in county jails over the last decade. The training addresses
numerous issues on the recognition and identification factors of a pending
disturbance as well as affirming an immediate team response from in-house
and inter-department resources. Use of road and custody personnel is
recommended in the program for smaller agencies.

TRAINING
TOPICS INCLUDE:

Pre-planning
for a potential disturbance. Facility location and environmental
considerations.

Developing
an "workable disturbance control plan" based on staffing,
response time and equipment availability.

Recognition
factors for signs of tension, mob psychology, types of mobs, gangs and
inmate affiliation, racial factors in county disturbances and riots.

Extensive
team training in strong psychological appearance, aggressive marching
techniques, workable formations for today's correctional facility.

Training
in use of shields, applications of correctional based chemical
munitions and diversionary devices.

Dynamic
and stealth team entry, dedicated arrest teams, cell by cell sweeping
techniques.
